Become a Volunteer
One Child depends upon our wonderful volunteers and we welcome you to join us! If you would like to volunteer, please contact us.
Volunteer on-site at One Child to help families shop
This usually consists of a 3–4-hour shift on a weekday evening, Saturday morning, or Saturday afternoon. Volunteers receive an orientation to explain policies and procedures.
Periodic help with short-term tasks
Work in a team to complete tasks such as preparing mailings, sorting toys/books, hanging up clothes, and other periodic/seasonal tasks.
Help secure or coordinate donations from manufacturers/retailers
Do you work at or with a company that makes or sells clothing, dental supplies, books, backpacks, school supplies, or toys? One Child provides these items on an ongoing basis to the children we serve and benefit greatly from in-kind donations.
Do you work with a service organization, school, club, company, or church interested in holding a drive for a specific item (e.g., socks, backpacks, books, toys)? You could be the contact person for coordinating the effort.
Speak to community organizations to spread the word and garner support
If you enjoy speaking to groups and have connections to community organizations that would be receptive to hearing about and supporting One Child, we can support you with brochures and presentation materials describing our work.
Help write funding proposals and grants
Are you familiar with grant writing procedures? Do you have experience helping to find and pursue funding opportunities? Please consider sharing this expertise with One Child.
Provide printing services
Do you have a printing business? Once or twice a year, we print a brochure, invitation, or fundraising document. If you can print them for us on a pro bono or discounted basis, a mention of the company name would be included on the piece.
Join our Board of Directors
We are looking for enthusiastic and talented individuals to join our board to help expand and continue our work. Experience in finance, tax preparation, and fundraising would be especially beneficial to our organization. Our board meets several times yearly, works on fundraising, and looks for opportunities to improve and expand what we do for the families we serve.
